NCAT has fellowships available to help support graduate students conducting research in asphalt technology. These fellowships are made available through a gift by Ronald D. and Margaret L. Kenyon and are available to Auburn University students working on NCAT research projects.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be accepted by the Auburn University Graduate School and the Pavements & Materials graduate faculty.
  • Complete the Kenyon Fellowship application form.
  • Visit Auburn University and NCAT to meet with the NCAT Director and other researchers.
  • Pursue research topics related to asphalt technology at Auburn University.
  • Agree to serve as an ambassador for the asphalt paving industry as well as NCAT and Auburn University.
  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and receive a positive recommendation each semester from their advisor.
  • MSCE students may receive the Kenyon Fellowship for a maximum of 6 semesters.
  • PhD students may receive the fellowship for up to 9 semesters.
  • Students who earn an MSCE and continue with a PhD may receive the fellowship for up to 15 semesters total.

Fellowship amounts and terms are determined by the NCAT Director. Kenyon Fellowships may only be awarded to students currently "in residence" at Auburn University. Distance-learning or online students are not eligible. If a student has not completed their degree and leaves Auburn for another job, the fellowship will not be continued.
