Capacity: Maximum of 30 students; minimum of 8 students.

Overview

This is a one-day classroom course designed to train designated individuals in proper procedures for conducting and documenting a radiation safety program.

Participants will receive materials and guidance to conduct Radiation Safety Refresher workshops for previously certified ALDOT technicians.

Topics include:

  • Regulations for securing and transporting nuclear gauges
  • Personnel monitoring protocols
  • Response procedures for accidents or stolen gauges
  • Instructions for conducting leak tests
  • Required documentation and record keeping

Completion of the Radiation Safety course is a prerequisite.

Fees, Refunds & Deadline

Registration fee: $300/student
Written retake fee: $150/student

Participants are responsible for housing, food and transportation. Registration fees must be paid at the time of registration. Registration closes two weeks prior to the course start date or when the class is full—whichever comes first.

Cancellations received at least two weeks before the course start date will receive a full refund. No refunds will be issued after that point, but substitutions are accepted.
