Overview

This one-day classroom course (spanning two half-days) is designed to ensure that individuals who use nuclear density gauges and nuclear asphalt content gauges understand proper safety protocols. Topics include:

  • Health hazards of radioactive materials
  • Rules and regulations of the Radiological Safety Manual
  • Alabama Radiation Protection Regulations
  • Manufacturer’s instructions for the specific gauge in use

This course is a prerequisite for the following technician courses:

Fees, Refunds & Deadline

Registration fee: $275/student
Written retake fee: $150/student

Participants are responsible for housing, food, and transportation. Registration fees must be paid at the time of registration. Registration closes two weeks prior to the course start date or when the class is full—whichever comes first.

Cancellations received at least two weeks before the course start date will receive a full refund. No refunds will be issued after that point, but substitutions are accepted.
